Winner of the Manitoba Tourism Innovation Award (2001)
The Irvin Goodon International Wildlife Museum was established
in 2001. Founder Irvin Goodon began trapping and hunting for necessity
in Southwestern Manitoba in the 1930s. This began a life-long
passion that he now shares with the world. Founder of Goodon
Industries, Canadas largest post frame construction company,
Irvin became not only a skilled businessman but an experienced hunter
traveling on expeditions to New Zealand, Northern and Western Canada.
The Irvin Goodon International Wildlife Museum maintains one of
the largest collections of animal exhibits in Canada. It is also
a great centre for education about animals and our natural environment.
Located in Boissevain, Manitoba, the Museum has more than 300 full-mount
animals that are arranged in interactive scenes. The Museum continues
to develop new exhibits and is the process of building an interactive
Learning Centre for children and youth that will allow them to closely
examine animals and their environment.
The Museum is a lively centre where visitors learn about the natures
finest and fiercest animals through engaging guided tours. Learn
more about our guided tours for

In addition to the many animals on display in the Museum, the associated
